The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone XI Command, Osogbo, Olasupo Babatunde Ajani, has said that for Nigerians to enjoy lasting peace, cooperation with the law enforcement agencies, obedience to the laws of the land without coercion and exhibition of love of peace were essential ingredients.
Ajani made this known while speaking during a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II in Ile-Ife.
The top cop charged politicians, business owners, leaders of thoughts and youths to cooperate with the police to ensure the security of lives and property.
He also called for co-operation in the area of appropriate and timely dissemination of information to the police about the activities of criminal elements, adding that with such information, the police will do its best to reduce crime to the barest minimum in the society.
In his response, the Ooni who recalled Ajani’s role in restoring peace to Ife/Modakeke during the communal war of 2000 assured the Zone XI police boss of his co-operation.
