Our Calmness Doesn’t Mean Weakness, Do Not Take Us For Granted — Senator Babba Blows Hot Over Killings Of Northerners In the South

Katsina North Senatorial District law maker, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita has seriously frawn at the manner at which the Northerners are being attacked in other part of the country especially in the South.

The law maker was reacting over the remark by his executive Governor of Zamfara State Bello Matawalle who some days ago warned that the region will not guarantee the safety of Southerns residing in the North if the attack on the northerners persist.
Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, in a piece titled ‘The North: When silence is no longer an option’,

He said every North person equally deserves the right to live and carry out their businesses in the South in line with the country’s constitution.

According to him, for the fact that they have been keeping quite, it does not mean they are comfortable with what has been happening.

“That the river is calm doesn’t mean there are no crocodiles beneath.” he said in the piece.

“Nobody should, however, overlook the fact that respect is mutual, and that building a nation is a collaborative effort anywhere in the world, and Nigeria is no exception.

“Great countries did not emerge from the depths of the earth,” he said.
