We killed the 43 Farmers because they arrested our members - Boko Haram Leader
Nigerian Journalist, Bulama Bukarti has said that The Shekau faction of Boko Haram (JAS) has just released a video claiming responsibility for #ZabarmariMassacre and the killing of 43 farmers last month. It said it's a retaliation on farmers for arresting its members and handing them over to the Nigerian military.

"This has put to rest debates on which faction is responsible. It also shows that, contrary to past theories, JAS operates around Maiduguri. It's another testimony of how brutal Shekau is. I hope this beast will be captured alive and brought to justice in the most humiliating way."

"On @channelstv , I explained why we'd be careful with the advice that the FG should employ mercenaries to fight BH. Our constitution doesn't allow that and mercenaries are notorious for human rights abuses. Our military can do this job if given the required equipment & leadership."

The commander who spoke in the video said the attack was to avenge the killings of their members by soldiers and warned civilians to desist from spying against them."
